Back LibAsia, Asia Malang Library Portal
The official portal of the UPT Library at Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Asia Malang, bringing the OPAC catalogue, digital library, plagiarism checking, and seven e-journal portals together behind a single entrance.
About This Project
LibAsia is the official website of the library unit at Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Asia Malang. It serves as a single entry point for students and lecturers to every library resource, from the OPAC catalogue and the FTD and FEB digital libraries to the similarity checking service and the book title suggestion form. Institutional information is grouped into three menus: Profile (history, vision and mission, librarians, organisational structure, rules, service hours), Services (circulation, administration, plagiarism, lockers, literature search, publishing), and Procedures (book donation, circulation, clearance letters). The portal also links seven campus journals: JIBEKA, JPM, JPRO, RISTANSI, JESKOVSIA, JITIKA, and JUBIS. Built with CodeIgniter and Bootstrap, it includes a news module, a visitor counter, a contact form, and a login area for content editors.
Tech Stack
Challenges
- Arranging dozens of institutional and service pages without burying the primary task of finding a book
- Unifying services scattered across separate platforms such as the OPAC, the digital library, and the journal portals
- Keeping the site light enough for the campus network and the wide range of student devices
Solutions
- Nested dropdown navigation grouped into Profile, Services, and Procedures, plus two primary calls to action in the hero for book search and publishing
- An Online Services card grid that routes visitors to each platform from a single home page
- A Bootstrap template with locally hosted vendor assets and lightweight scroll animations to keep load times short
