About This Project
APARAT (Aplikasi Surat Menyurat) is a digital correspondence management system built to cut paper bureaucracy at MAN 1 Kota Malang. The platform offers three main entry points: an Admin Dashboard for managing incoming mail, outgoing mail, and dispositions; Online Submission for members of the public who need to file a request without creating an account; and a Tracking System for following the progress of a submitted request. With APARAT the entire mail lifecycle, from submission through review and disposition to completion, is documented digitally and transparently. The system speeds up administrative processing roughly threefold and has significantly reduced the loss of physical documents.

Challenges
- Building a multi-stage mail workflow (submit, review, disposition, complete) flexible enough for different types of correspondence
- Providing public tracking without login while keeping sensitive data hidden
- Managing complex state for real-time status tracking
Solutions
- A state machine pattern for the mail workflow with clearly defined status transitions
- A token-based tracking system where each submission receives a unique code usable without authentication
- Server-side rendering with Laravel Blade for the responsive admin dashboard, and caching for the public tracking page
